Apply to the Sports MBA Program

Get your sports career on track with SDSU's Sports MBA program in three easy steps. 

We are excited about your interest in SDSU Sports MBA! Please follow the outlined steps below to complete your application. Note: Our application requires two initial parts 1) Sports MBA website application 2) Cal State Apply. Expand the steps below for more information.

SDSU Sports MBA Fall 2026 admissions will be open from October 1st through June 15th. Please have these documents and resources available to complete the online application:

Unofficial transcripts
LinkedIn Profile and Professional Resume
Two (2) letters of recommendation

Apply through Cal State Apply between October 1st through June 15th. 

Please visit the Cal State Apply online portal to register with the California State University System.

  • Select Business Administration-Sports Business Management (MBA) degree
  • Pay $70 application fee

You do not need to upload transcripts, resume, or personal statement at the time of completing the online application. Those will be collected later (see below). For the Fall 2026 intake, the GMAT and GRE exams are not required and scores will not be considered in the admissions process.

Please send official transcripts to [email protected]. It typically takes the evaluations team about three weeks to process transcripts. Note: The Sports MBA Admissions Team does not receive or manage the official transcripts (it goes to a separate department at SDSU).

Cal State Apply

Once both parts of your application (website + Cal State Apply) have been submitted, a team member from the Sports MBA office will contact you to guide you through your next steps:

Round 1: Screening Call

A short introductory conversation to get to know you and your interest in the program.

Round 2: Presentation

If you are moved forward following the screening call, you will receive the admission prompts to complete a presentation.

Round 3: Admissions Interview

After submitting your presentation and all other materials, you will be invited to the final round interview(s) with the Sports MBA Admissions Team.
