Hansen and Showghi Named 2025 Glazer Outstanding Lecturer Fellowship Endowment Recipients
Accounting lecturer Julie Hansen and management information systems lecturer Robert Showghi have been selected to receive the 2025 Glazer Outstanding Lecturer Fellowships from SDSU’s Fowler College of Business.
Hansen and Showghi were presented with commemorative plaques during a reception held in their honor on October 27. They will also receive a salary supplement and additional funding to support their professional development activities during the next two years.
Established in 2021 by a former Fowler lecturer and SDSU alumnus, Jeff Glazer (’81 MBA), the Glazer Lecturer Excellence Fellow endowments recognize those lecturers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a record of outstanding service to their students, the Fowler College of Business, and the university.

Showghi has taught at SDSU since 2013 and was named “Most Influential Faculty Member” by the top student in the general business major in 2023. He is an expert in supply chain management operations, and he has done numerous press interviews as an SDSU subject matter specialist.
"I am genuinely honored to be named as a recipient of the Glazer Outstanding Lecturer Fellowship, especially since I am being acknowledged for doing something I truly love to do,” said Showghi. “It is incredibly rewarding to provide students with the knowledge and skills they will need as they build their futures and pursue their careers. This fellowship offers a great feeling of validation for those efforts."
Hansen has served as a lecturer in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy since 2016 and has recently spearheaded efforts to introduce students to working professionals through the Business Leaders Forum and student internship events she coordinated during the previous academic year. She is also responsible for funding a gift to the university that recently outfitted an existing classroom with state-of-the-art technology, bolstering digital multimedia and AI capabilities.

Their energy and achievements inspire me every single day.”
