Bill Brack Honored Among 2024 Distinguished Alumni For Support and Service to Fowler and University
Finance alumnus Bill Brack (’76) was named the 2024 recipient of the Alumni Awards of Distinction for the Fowler College of Business. The Alumni Awards of Distinction are given bi-annually to graduates of San Diego State University who have made significant contributions to the university or to society at large.
Brack has consistently served on numerous SDSU boards and committees, including the SDSU Research Foundation’s finance and investment committee, the Aztec Athletic Foundation and the Pacific Northwest Alumni organization. Additionally, he and his wife, Karen, have generously supported the students and faculty of the Fowler College of Business through the William and Karen Brack Endowed Scholarship for SDSU finance students, and the William and Karen Brack Endowed Professorship in Finance which supports the recruitment and retention of finance faculty.
Bill and Karen Brack are known to be devoted Aztec fans and season ticket holders. The couple has made numerous gifts to SDSU athletic endeavors and Bill Brack said he is proud of being able to offer financial support toward “making Snapdragon Stadium and SDSU Mission Valley a reality.”
After earning his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation, Brack has worked in the financial planning industry as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He’s shared his expertise as a guest lecturer for various SDSU finance classes and has mentored and offered career advice to several generations of business students. When asked why he supports the programs and students at SDSU, Brack explained that he “believes it’s important to ‘pay it forward’.”
