TopGolf Callaway Hosts Students at HQ

On Thursday December 15th, the SDSU Sports MBA ‘23 class were treated to an afternoon at the global headquarters of Topgolf Callaway Brands in Carlsbad, CA. As part of an immersive learning opportunity, the student cohort toured the facilities and had boardroom discussions with some of the leaders of one of the world’s biggest golf, apparel, and entertainment companies.

As part of the experience, the students were able to hear presentations and ask questions in an intimate environment with a number of staff, including SVP Global Finance Patrick Burke, EVP Global Operations Mark Leposky and VP Global Marketing Nick McInally, amongst others. To be able to get an insight into these areas of a $3.78 billion market cap company was a fantastic way to bring to life the learnings of the first semester of an action-packed Sports MBA program. 

It was an exciting afternoon spent at a company that has undergone a number of changes as the golf industry has evolved, most recently its acquisition of TopGolf and subsequent rebranding to Topgolf Callaway Brands, which better encompasses the overall direction and themes of the corporation. 

A huge thank you in particular to Senior Marketing Manager Nick Fergus for putting together an agenda that business people the world over would be extremely excited about.
