The Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, located within the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University, recently partnered with the San Diego Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) to host the inaugural San Diego Young Female Founders Summit on June 23, 2022.
Held in the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center at the SDSU campus, the San Diego Young Female Founders Summit brought together dozens of girls and young women between the ages of 12 – 20 who are interested in learning about entrepreneurship.
The event’s audience included many who were interested in learning more about entrepreneurship and subject matter experts eager assist
The audience was provided information on various aspects of entrepreneurship by subject matter experts — including key business leaders from the San Diego community —and they participated in breakout sessions to discuss marketing, branding, financing and mentorship ideas.
“Our first EO San Diego Young Female Founders Summit was designed to inspire young women and have them consider entrepreneurship, while also helping turn their ideas and passions into a potential business,” said Anna Crowe, CEO of Crowe PR and a board member of Entrepreneurs’ Organization. “In addition to educational panels and keynotes, our interactive product launch competition had participants exchange ideas and present their out-of-the box business solutions for a chance to win prizes. We couldn’t think of a better partner than the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center for this event and are grateful that so many local leaders participated and helped make this event a success.”
“Nearly every seat at the center was filled with young people who wanted to learn more about establishing an entrepreneurial enterprise,” said Alex DeNoble, executive director of the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center. “It was a great learning day for those in attendance to gain an understanding about entrepreneurial options, resources and opportunities from current women business owners — including two former Lavin Entrepreneurship Program alumni — who have been-there, done-that.”
