Fowler Student Athletes Honored for their Spirit and Academic Achievement
Nine student-athletes from the Fowler College of Business were honored at the inaugural Aztecs Celebrating Excellence (A.C.E. Awards) for their academic achievement, personal growth and school spirit. This year’s awards were presented during a banquet and ceremony held April 13, 2022.
Four student-athletes were recipients of the Jim Malik Award for their outstanding academic achievements during the spring and fall semesters of 2021. The Jim Malik Award is presented each year to the student scholar-athletes who earn 4.0 GPAs during the semester.
Malik recipient, Lauren Lee, who was named Fowler’s top student in management in 2021, was presented a Malik Award for her outstanding GPA for the spring semester of 2021. Samantha Geyer, a senior marketing major, graduated in May 2022; while Emily Lowe, a sophomore marketing major and Alexis Sullivan, a junior finance major will return to SDSU in the fall to compete on the field and continue their studies.
Other Fowler student-athletes recognized during the awards ceremony were April Ranches and Koa Santos for their involvement with the Aztecs Going Pro program; Kaitlin Heri and Elliot Pavis for their team spirit; and Nathan Mensah for his excellent taste in footwear.
