Sports MBA '22 Students Experience the Perfect Game at Petco Park
Members of the incoming class at the SDSU Sports MBA Program had the opportunity to volunteer for the Perfect Game All American Classic hosted at Petco Park this past Sunday, August 22nd. The top high school baseball prospects from around the country spend almost a full week in San Diego for festivities surrounding the game. This year, the group participated in youth baseball clinics, raised money for Rady Children's Hospital, took part in a home run derby, and received mentorship from Baseball Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman. The week of events culminated in a classic East versus West matchup played in front of family, friends, fans, and hundreds of MLB scouts.
The multi-day volunteer experience allowed our group to see behind the scenes how multiple teams collaborate across venues throughout San Diego to execute an event of this magnitude.
Sports MBA students set up for the athlete welcoming experience on Thursday and on Sunday managed the Petco Park VIP entrances and Perfect Game merchandise stands.
SDSU Sports MBA would like to thank Annette Eugenio of PGAAC for giving us this opportunity to learn more about the sport and get to know our classmates better!
