The Fowler College of Business Welcomes Three New Professors for the 2021 Fall Semester
Three new faculty members will join San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business at the start of the fall semester during the 2021-22 academic year.
Amanda Marino
Amanda Marino will begin her academic career as an assistant accounting professor at the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy after earning her Ph.D. from the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University. She will teach two sections of Taxation of Business (ACCTG-332) during the fall of 2021.
Marino’s areas of expertise include corporate taxation, individual taxation, hedge fund management, private equity and gender differences in executive compensation.
Morteza Safaei Pour
Internet and cyber security expert, Morteza Safaei Pour, will join the Fowler College of Business as an assistant professor in the management information systems (MIS) department this fall where he will teach two sections of Data Management Systems (MIS-315). Safaei Pour recently graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he earned a Ph.D. in information systems and cyber security.
His research interests include internet measurements, IoT security, machine learning and big data.
Young Jun Song
After earning his Ph.D. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, Young Jun Song comes to the Fowler College of Business’ finance department as an assistant professor where he will specialize in teaching and researching private equity and venture capital, entrepreneurial finance and corporate finance. This fall, he will teach Financial Management (BA-674) and Financial Analysis and Management (FIN-423).
He earned his M.Sc. in finance and economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and two bachelor’s degrees from Cornell University.
