Bio
Xialu Liu is a Professor in the Department of Management Information Systems department. She received a Bachelor of Science in math from Zhejiang University, a master’s degree in economics from Peking University, and a Ph.D. degree in statistics from Rutgers University. At SDSU, Liu teaches core and elective courses for undergraduate, MBA, and MSIS students such as introductory statistics, forecasting and business analytics, machine learning methods, and big data. Her research interests include business forecasting, time series, high dimensional data analysis, factor models and statistical applications in business, sciences and engineering. Her research work has been well-recognized by her peers and published in leading journals including the Journal of Econometrics, Statistica Sinica, and the Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference.
