Bio
Dr. Serena Zhu joined the faculty at San Diego State University in 2023, bringing extensive academic and research experience from her previous appointment as an Assistant Professor of Management Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). During her tenure at UAH, she was honored with the designation of Gray Faculty Fellow and received the Outstanding Faculty Award from the College of Business in 2022.
Dr. Zhu holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Her scholarly work spans sustainable supply chain management, product deletion, and blockchain technology. Her research has appeared in a number of peer-reviewed journals, including IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, the International Journal of Production Economics, the International Journal of Production Research, and Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, among others.
At SDSU, Dr. Zhu teaches across both undergraduate and graduate levels. She instructs Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management (BA 360) at the undergraduate level, and at the graduate level she offers Enterprise Resource Planning and Blockchain (MIS 752) and Supply Chain Resilience (MIS 744).
