Bio

Mahsa Paridar joined the Fowler College of Business in 2025 as an assistant professor of marketing after earning her Ph.D. in marketing from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Her research focuses on quantitative marketing, online tipping, and digital entrepreneurship, with an interest in how data can help businesses better understand and engage their customers. Her doctoral work was recognized with the 2025 Xavier Drèze Prize for the best dissertation paper at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Prior to her career in academia, Paridar co-founded a company that specialized in optimizing marketing campaigns through online and social media platforms.

Outside of work, Paridar enjoys board games and is a lifelong chess player, having been Iran’s national chess champion in the under-10 and under-12 categories. She also loves hiking, camping, and road trips to discover new places and scenic landscapes.
