Bio
David Goldberg is a Professor of Management Information Systems in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University and serves as an AI Fellow for the university. He received his doctoral and bachelor's degrees from Virginia Tech. His research interests are in the areas of AI, text mining, decision support systems, and expert systems.
Goldberg's research focuses on developing computational methods and intelligent systems that extract actionable information from large volumes of unstructured data. His recent work has applied text mining and AI techniques to product quality and safety, using online reviews and other user-generated content to identify and flag unsafe or defective products. As an AI Fellow, he contributes to university-wide initiatives that support AI literacy, assess AI adoption and perceptions, and inform institutional decision making.
His recent publications have appeared in Decision Support Systems, Decision Sciences, Risk Analysis, Internet Research, Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, and others.
