Bio

V. Chris Holbrook is a lecturer in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University, where he teaches Entrepreneurial Finance (FIN 328). Teaching at SDSU is a homecoming: he earned his undergraduate degree here, with a double major in English and Economics. He later earned an MBA through the joint program of UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and Columbia Business School.

Chris brings more than two decades of experience building and financing companies. He founded cPrime, a technology consulting firm he grew for over a decade before selling it to ALTEN, a global engineering and technology firm, in 2014. He is now the founder and CTO of Halo Health, a functional health company that uses genetics as its starting point. Earlier in his career he worked at Siebel Systems and led product and strategy teams at health tech and AI companies. His teaching focuses on financial modeling, fundraising, and the real decisions founders face, drawn from companies he has built himself. He lives in Encinitas, where he runs ultramarathons, swims in the ocean, and trains in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
