Bio

Al Taccone joined the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University as a lecturer in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy in fall 2025. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Science from Walden University, an MBA from Anna Maria College, and a bachelor’s degree in business education from Bryant University.

Al has more than four decades of experience in higher education as both an administrator and faculty member. For the past 30 years he has served as the Dean, School of Career Education at MiraCosta College and held leadership roles as dean at Cuyamaca College, San Diego Mesa College, and Jefferson Community College. Prior, Al was a full time professor of accounting and business at Dean College in Massachusetts.

Besides his administrative service, Al has extensive teaching experience at both the undergraduate and community college levels, having taught accounting and business courses at a number of institutions. At SDSU, he currently teaches Managerial Accounting Fundamentals (ACCTG 202), Intermediate Accounting 1 (ACCTG 331), Intermediate Financial Accounting (ACCTG 326), and Financial Measurement and Reporting (ACCTG 620).
