Two SDSU Fowler College of Business student-athletes, Lauren Lee (volleyball) and Katelyn Murphy (lacrosse) were among 17 student-athletes who were recently awarded the Jim Malik Award for their outstanding academic achievements. The Jim Malik Award is presented each year to the student scholar-athletes who earn the highest GPAs in a semester.
Lee, a junior majoring in marketing, was presented with the award for the spring and fall semesters of 2019. Freshman Murphy, a general business major, earned her award for the fall 2019 semester.
The Jim Malik Award was named for the late Dr. James Malik, an SDSU chemistry professor who served as the university’s faculty athletic representative to the NCAA council from 1991 to 1993.
