Aztec Investment Fund
The Finance Department at the Fowler College of Business launched the Aztec Investment fund (AIF) in Fall 2025. The AIF course is a student-centered experiential learning platform that provides finance students with the opportunity to manage real investment capital and make trading and portfolio decisions aligned with the fund’s established objectives and constraints. The program is designed to bridge classroom theory with the real world of finance in a collaborative and professional environment.
The student-managed AIF portfolio, which combines the former Undergraduate Equity Fund and Aztec Equity Fund, includes both equity and fixed income investments. Under the guidance of the faculty director, students continuously evaluate the portfolio’s asset allocation and adjust the asset mix accordingly.
The AIF course is offered to both undergraduate and graduate finance students and is led by the faculty director, Cyrille Mahfoud.
