Beverly Bracker joined the Fowler College of Business as the director of the Graduate Career Management Center in June 2014 and remained in that position as the center changed its name to the Career Management Center in 2019.
The faculty and staff were able to say their good-byes to Bracker during a virtual retirement ceremony held on December 15 where they expressed their gratitude for her service. “When I think of you, I think of a couple words: I think of grace, I think of leadership. I think of professionalism – just a really calm demeanor,” said Kristie Dock, assistant dean of the Fowler College of Business. “I watched you for a lot of years and used you as an example. You’ve taught me a lot and really helped me grow professionally.”
Bracker, her husband and her dog, Kacie, plan to move to Albuquerque after the new year where they can look forward to a “lower cost of living, less traffic, more open space and the beautiful skies that come with being at a higher altitude.”

Joyce Gill has served as the coordinator for the dean’s office at the Fowler College of Business for nearly 20 years. During that time, she has worked for eight different deans and six of them — along with the current Fowler faculty and staff — were able to wish her the best during her virtual retirement celebration on December 14.
During the virtual ceremony, David Ely, the college’s associate dean, pointed out Joyce’s outstanding service to the college and to the university, and the honors she’d received for her service including a Presidential Staff Excellence Award. The Thomas and Evelyn Page interim dean for the Fowler College of Business, Bruce Reinig, shared how Gill had been especially helpful to him as he settled into his current role and said thank you for the “especially positive impact you’ve had on this office — over the years, you’ve just been a wonderful, joyful person to work with.”
After her last day at the university on December 30, Gill says she plans “to sit in traffic less and travel to visit friends and family more.”
