Hello, I am Julia Romero, currently studying abroad in Marseille, France at Kedge Business School. Throughout my journey thus far, I have grown tremendously within myself, expanding my perspectives while immersing myself in a new culture. Through this immersive experience, I have been forced to step outside of my comfort zone, handling language barriers, participating in new cultural events, and adapting to a new way of life. By experiencing all of this, I have grown to embrace every challenge, enjoy the simplicity of life, and expand my horizons. Attending an international school has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with students from all over the world. Enabling me to strengthen my emotional intelligence, gaining greater perspectives of different cultures and ways of life. Adapting to a new education system has allowed me to become more open-minded and gain insights from a global perspective. The challenges I have faced thus far have only made me stronger, growing my gratitude for my experience and for the life I have at home. I have been fortunate enough to travel during my study abroad, allowing me to further expand my horizons beyond France. This opportunity has enabled me to be more confident within myself, connect with people from all over the world, and expose myself to countless different cultures. During this journey, I have discovered so many new values I will continue to hold with me as I return to the states. The Charles W. Hostler Study Abroad scholarship contributed to this irreplaceable experience that I am so grateful to have received. As my study abroad experience is coming to an end, I will forever cherish this once in a lifetime opportunity.
