The Wildlife Care Internship program that offers university students an opportunity to explore wildlife conservation careers by interacting with professionals at the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park during the summer months. On August 12, Lindner, a marketing lecturer at the Fowler College of Business and the director of the Fowler Scholars Program, led the interns in a discussion and Q&A session focusing on “the next steps in their career journeys.”
“I used the same format I use during my professional development class (MKTG-496) at SDSU,” said Lindner, who taught the session at the zoo’s Safari Park location. “During the session, we explored the students’ personal and professional goals so they could better determine their working preferences and develop well-being practices before they move toward their higher education and their career destinations.”
Lindner said he volunteered to teach in the Zoo’s Wildlife Care Internship program because “my wife and I are very dedicated to education. This internship program is new and we saw an opportunity to give back to the community.”
