Eric Forsythe (left) with his son Aeon ForsytheDid your college experience influence your parenting style? If so, how?
Eric: My college experience influenced my parenting style to live in the moment and enjoy
the process. College was important to treasure the learning process and experience
of an array of subjects. There are classes taken that may never apply in the real-world,
but it exercises the ability of critical thinking that transfers to the many areas
of life. In college, I took electives that interested me such as classical guitar
and television broadcasting. Aeon also had elective classes as varied such as judo
and bowling (in his undergraduate years).
Did your dad’s education at SDSU inspire you to attend?
Aeon: Most definitely. I have looked up to my dad in various ways, so to continue the SDSU
legacy in the family is an honor and privilege for me. It reminds me of the blessings
and opportunities I’ve been given from my family through their hard work and commitment.
How do you think your SDSU experience was different from Ben’s?
Eric: My path took me from Grossmont College and a transfer to SDSU my junior year. Though
I was the first-generation graduate in our family, junior college did not offer the
same housing and fraternal opportunities as SDSU. Aeon’s experience began straight
to SDSU his freshman year and living on campus with one of his best friends for a
roommate. The admirable achievement of completing an engineering program in four years
is impressive and I believe attributed to the culture of SDSU. Furthering his education
at SDSU for an MBA was a challenge I knew he would meet due to his love of learning
and mastery.
When did you finish your MBA?
Aeon: I just finished my MBA with an emphasis on information systems this spring semester
of 2022.
