Piper Overstreet-White Inspires SMBA with Purpose-Driven Leadership at the Raiders
During her visit, Piper emphasized the organization’s commitment to diversity, sustainability, and community. She shared the Raiders’ prioritization of DEI initiatives as reflected in their coaching staff and leadership, like President Sandra Douglass Morgan, the first Black and Asian woman to serve as an NFL team president. The Raiders’ sustainable initiatives include a stadium and headquarters that are powered by renewable energy, as well as the collection of food waste after games that’s donated to local livestock and farms. Piper spoke about the team’s local partnerships with non-profits and community initiatives, including Allegiant Stadium serving as an official polling location this past Election Day and a back-to-school program that partnered with local businesses to provide free haircuts to Las Vegas youth.
Piper left SMBA ‘25 with several key pieces of advice. She encouraged students to believe in themselves and embrace their unique perspective and experience because the sports world needs their passion, talent and diversity. She also pushed students not only to pursue internships and ambassadorships, but to lean in, raise their hand, and get to work. Piper shared she has the same work ethic now that she did in her first role, which has equated to being good at her job and gaining credibility—keys to success that have allowed her to pursue passion. It was a privilege to hear from such an inspiring leader and have her visit Sports MBA. Thank you for your time, Piper!
