Elite Performance Partners Help SMBA '25 Tell Their Story

SMBA ‘25 was thrilled to recently host the founding and managing partners of Elite Performance Partners, a specialist search company that helps professional sports organizations hire key roles and leading talent for their teams. Based in London, they have worked with European clubs in the Premier League and Premiership Rugby, as well as several sports organizations in North America. Most recently, EPP partnered with San Diego’s newest professional sports team, San Diego FC, to help in the hiring of over 150 professionals. 

Founding Partner Dave Slemen and Managing Partner Anna Edwards led two sessions for students that focused on the recruitment process for jobs in sports. Their sessions helped students consider how to position themselves in their resumes and during interviews, how to effectively tell their stories, assist with understanding their transferable skills, and how to answer difficult questions. Students sifted through job descriptions and practiced succinct elevator pitches that make a memorable impression. 

Anna and Dave were kind enough to sit with students and go over their resumes and specific job descriptions. They offered their expertise on how to format, organize, and convey ideas students wanted to get across during the job process.
