San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business (FCB) has received a $2.5 million gift that will significantly enhance its ability to prepare students for professional success through expanded career readiness initiatives.

SDSU alumnus Jeffrey Partrick (’73, accounting) and his wife, Trulette Clayes, made the transformative gift that will expand the college’s career and professional development offerings, including a new leadership development program for student clubs and organizations, a career boot camp for students in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy, and an executive coaching clinic for FCB graduate students.

In recognition of the gift, the college’s career center will be renamed the Partrick-Clayes Center for Career Development, underscoring the Fowler College of Business’s strategic priority of enhancing career readiness by providing students with access to innovative programs and resources that build skills aligned with employer expectations.

“We are grateful to Jeff and Trulette for supporting new opportunities that enhance the career readiness of our students with the communications and critical thinking skills they will use throughout their professional lives,” said Dan Moshavi, Thomas and Evelyn Page Dean of the Fowler College of Business. “Additionally, this gift will be used as a starting point for a fundraising campaign meant to inspire additional support for new programs and tools students need to seamlessly transition into the workforce.”

“As the first member of my family to attend and graduate from a university, I am incredibly proud of my SDSU degree, and the foundation it has served throughout my career,” said Partrick.  “Career development services made a lasting impact on both Trulette’s and my college experience and played a pivotal role in our professional journeys.  Now it’s important for us to support future generations of students realize their full potential and succeed in their own careers.”
