Super Girl Surf Pro
Last month, SMBA ’25 students volunteered at the world’s top professional female surf contest for the 18th annual Super Girl Surf Pro in Oceanside, CA. This 3-day event, held on September 20-22nd this year, is the only large-scale all-women’s action sports, esports and lifestyle series in the world. The picturesque weekend showcased a world-class surfing competition, surfskate contest, live music performances, and a festival village filled with female-inspired vendors, activities and entertainment. The free event has become a staple celebration of female strength and empowerment since it was established in 2007. This year’s Super Girl Surf Pro made history by crowning the youngest event winner, 15-year-old Eden Walla.
SMBA ’25 students supported the event in several capacities, including assisting at information and registration booths, helping with event management and operations, and supporting vendors and guests throughout the festival grounds.
Emery Goulet (’25) reflects on his experience, “It was incredible to work behind-the-scenes and see how much planning and coordination it takes to make an event like that run. Huge thank you to David Berchem and ASA Entertainment for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event.”
Thank you to ASA Entertainment, David Bercham, and the entire Super Girl Surf Pro team for allowing the SMBA ’25 students be a part of this always memorable and inspiring event!
