Management Professor Honored for DEI Research
Amy Randel, management professor at SDSU’s Fowler College of Business, was honored for her research in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) with the 2023 Academy of Management’s Sage Award for Scholarly Contributions. This annual award recognizes scholars who have shown outstanding contributions which have greatly advanced DEI within organizational research.
The award was presented to Randel during the Academy of Management’s annual meeting on August 7.
Randel, who specializes in organizational behavior, is a founding member of the Institute on Inclusiveness and Diversity in Organizations (IIDO) and is among the most cited professors within the Fowler College of Business (research citations in Google Scholar).
“I am truly grateful to have received this recognition for my body of work in this area,” said Randel after receiving the award. “I have been fortunate to have collaborated on research with incredible colleagues who are or have been at San Diego State. This award is a testament to the reputation that the management department and San Diego State have in the area of DEI within management.”
