Behind-the-Scenes Snapdragon Stadium Tour
On February 3rd, SMBA Class of ‘23 was able to take a tour of the beautiful Snapdragon Stadium. The cohort was led through the recently opened venue by Adam Millar - General Manager, Brian Smith - Director of Operations, and Gracie Pugliese - Director of Marketing and PR. SMBA alum (‘22) Claudia Cox who is now the Event Manager at Snapdragon Stadium also led the tour.
The tour gave the class a chance to see the entirety of the stadium, both what the fans experience and the behind-the-scenes experiences of those working events. The cohort had their questions answered and was given valuable insights into what it takes to run a stadium year round. From football to soccer, rugby to lacrosse, Jimmy Buffett concerts and everything in between, this stadium is designed to be enjoyed by the San Diego community all year long.
SMBA students learned how the design of this stadium came together and observed the one-of-a-kind aspects associated with the venue such as the Sycuan Piers which are uniquely San Diego. Other aspects of the stadium also incorporate the local community such as local food and beverage vendors as well as beautiful murals painted by local artists located throughout the concourse.
Another impressive component of the stadium is the seating. Snapdragon Stadium brings fans and premium seating closer to the field, incorporates safe-standing seating in the rowdiest section, and offers many areas to stand and enjoy a drink while still having a view of the action. All of these facets make a great viewing experience for the audience and it is true that there is no bad seat in the stadium.
The SMBA ‘23 cohort is very appreciative of the opportunity to experience this beautiful stadium and learn from such great hosts at OVG360!
