Fowler Management Professor Delivers Entrepreneurship Presentation at U.S. Capital Complex
Alex DeNoble, executive director for the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center at San Diego
State University, delivered a presentation before members of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) discussing the importance of entrepreneurial education. DeNoble gave the presentation
on July 6, 2022, in the House Ways and Means Committee room in the Longworth House
Office Building which is located adjacent to the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C.
DeNoble, who also serves as a management professor at SDSU’s Fowler College of Business, gave the presentation during the ICSB World Congress held July 3 – 8. The ICSB brings educators, researchers, policy makers and practitioners together to promote the growth and development of small businesses.
During his presentation, DeNoble discussed the importance of educating and shaping future entrepreneurs by helping them to develop the necessary skills and competencies to allow them to build successful micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“It’s a transformative time, and we — especially my education colleagues — are in the business of preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs,” DeNoble told the audience. “These are our future leaders; these are going to be the stewards who are going to help us impact our economy going forward.”
DeNoble, along with several SDSU entrepreneurship students, traveled to the event to attend workshops, panel sessions and lectures designed to educate and inform future entrepreneurs.
