Did your college experience influence your parenting style? If so, how?
Mark: Yes, my college experience did influence my parenting style. I had a fantastic experience
attending SDSU and when I look back to those days, I look back with a sense of pride
and accomplishment. As a parent, I wanted that same experience for my children. I
expressed the importance of a college education from day one. I tried to explain to
them what possibilities lay ahead for their future if they worked hard in school and
hoped they would experience the same joy and sense of pride that I did.
Did your dad’s education at SDSU inspire you to attend?
Ethan: My dad's education at SDSU has played a big role in inspiring me to get my degree
at SDSU. Over the years, I have seen his passion and pride for the school, and it
has inspired me to want to be part of such an amazing community. He always talks about
how valuable his education was at SDSU in the success of his professional career,
and how great his professors were during his time at school.
How do you think your SDSU experience was different from Ethan’s?
Mark: I feel my SDSU experience was different than Ethan’s in several ways. When I attended
SDSU, the students were able to engage in the day-to-day activities on campus and
attended more sporting events and social gatherings. The university was its own community,
and everything happened inside of that community. There was a great sense of pride
in the university and your fellow students.
When do you anticipate earning your bachelor’s degree?
Ethan: I intend to earn my bachelor's degree in spring 2024.
