From left: Alesha, Tom and Danielle KenaleyDid your college experience influence your parenting style? If so, how?
Tom: Yes, by showing the importance of building a network through community.
Did your dad’s education at SDSU inspire you to attend?
Alesha: My dad’s time at SDSU definitely influenced me when I was deciding where I wanted
to go. I had heard so many stories growing up and it sounded like such a fun place
to be. My dad took me on a tour of the school and to a basketball game when I was
deciding between a couple of schools, and that trip is definitely what ultimately
sold me.
Danielle: My dad’s education at SDSU was definitely a major inspiration as to why I attended
the school. Being able to see firsthand how this education has contributed to his
success in the business world gave me the motivation to follow in his footsteps and
hopefully obtain a stable future in regard to business. Not only did he receive an
exceptional educational degree, but an array of connections between coworkers and
lifelong friends who also attended the university, which is something that I wanted
to achieve as well.
How do you think your SDSU experience was different from Danielle and Alesha’s?
Tom: Definitely less structured.
Alesha, where are you working now?
Alesha: Regional human resources coordinator at Tri Pointe Homes in Irvine, California
Danielle, when do you anticipate earning your bachelor’s degree?
Danielle: I anticipate receiving my bachelor’s degree in 2024.
What are some of your memories of SDSU?
Tom: Great college experience and I made lifelong friends while earning a quality education!
Alesha: I loved my time at SDSU, and I truly found my place in my business fraternity, Alpha
Kappa Psi. The people there became my home base at school and being so heavily involved
enriched my life there tenfold!
