International Business Senior Honored By National Organization

March 3, 2021

An international business student at San Diego State University, Katrina Celine Hizon, has been named the 2021 Pacific Coast Regional Collegian of the Year by national business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi

Hizon, a senior majoring in international business, with an emphasis in Japanese language and culture, was an officer in the San Diego State chapter of Delta Sigma Pi (the Iota Pi chapter), first as the vice president of finance and, later, as chapter president in 2019. She first joined the organization in 2017 as an SDSU freshman.

With nearly 211 active collegiate chapters throughout the U.S., Delta Sigma Pi’s 2021 Pacific Coast Regional Collegian of the Year “recognizes an individual for his or her contributions, achievements, participation, and personal character.” All regional winners are awarded a $250 scholarship by the organization.

“While I have many highlights from my time at SDSU, I attribute those successes to the confidence I gained and relationships I developed via Delta Sigma Pi,” said Hizon. “I never would have become an SDSU Ambassador, gained internship experience, or found my home at SDSU without the experiences and connections I have made through Delta Sigma Pi.”
