Shijun (Tonni) Xia

Bio

Shijun (Tonni) Xia joined SDSU’s Fowler College of Business as an assistant professor of accounting in 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA in finance from Indiana University, Bloomington. Prior to entering academia, Xia had been a professional accountant for over ten years in the private sector, holding leading roles in different accounting functions, including AIS, financial accounting, managerial accounting, and tax planning.  

Xia's research interests include disclosure, consequences of accounting standards, and emerging topics using Big Data. He teaches Analytics in Accounting (ACCTG 790) to graduate students at SDSU. He also has experience teaching Intermediate Financial Accounting II at UC Irvine.
