Ranin Kazemi is an associate professor of history and director of the International Business Program. He is interested in social and economic history, history of trade and capitalism, business history, and historical processes of globalization. Dr. Kazemi has published monographic articles in top cross-disciplinary journals such as Modern Asian Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, and Comparative Studies of South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. His work has been sponsored by many competitive grants, fellowships, and extramural organizations at the national and international levels. As an educator, he teaches a variety of graduate and undergraduate classes. Before coming to SDSU, Dr. Kazemi taught at Kansas State University and Yale University where he held tenure-track and visiting positions respectively.
