Bio

Jessica Travis has been an instructor of the RTM404 Cross-Cultural Perspectives of Tourism course material under the Fowler College of Business with course designer, Vinod Sasidharan, since 2018.

Previously, Travis spent eight years working in one of San Diego's most famous tourist destinations, Balboa Park. There she brought  triple-bottom-line sustainability initiatives to arts, culture and local government organizations.  This included environmental conservation through the built environment, communication engagement and finding new economic revenues.

Travis graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor's in business administration and holds a Sustainable Business Practices Certificate from UCSD and a Continuing Professional Education Certificate in Sustainable Leadership from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Her training is in social responsibility –  implementation, reporting and community engagement – for businesses and her passion is translating that into the cultural and tourism worlds.
