Dr. Yan Luo is an assistant professor and the Goddard Faculty Fellow in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy. Since joining SDSU in 2014, she has taught courses in auditing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She was the recipient of several Fowler College of Business awards, including Outstanding Faculty Contribution Award (2018), SDSU Beta Gamma Sigma Professor of the Year (2018) and Most Influential Professor in Accounting (2017).
Dr. Luo is a passionate researcher in the areas of auditing, corporate disclosure, corporate governance, and data analytics. Her research has been published in Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Information Systems, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Research in Accounting Regulation, International Journal of Disclosure and Governance, Asian Review of Accounting, and Review of Accounting and Finance. She also serves on the editorial board of the Review of Accounting and Finance. Dr. Luo received her Ph.D. from Queen’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant (Illinois). Prior to entering academia, Dr. Luo was a project finance manager at General Electric.
