Bio
Alex Yao joined SDSU’s Fowler College of Business as an assistant professor in the fall of 2019. He recently earned recognition with the Teaching Excellence Award and a nomination as the most influential faculty member during his tenure.
Yao holds a Ph.D. from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he was honored with the USC Excellence in Teaching award in the marketing category. He specializes in quantitative modeling and marketing analytics, with a research focus on the luxury fashion goods industry, digital marketing, social impact, and sustainability.
His research papers are accepted for publication in top-tier journals, including Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, among others.
