Bio
Serena Zhu joined in SDSU in 2023 after teaching and researching as an assistant professor of management science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. While there, she was named the department’s Gray Faculty Fellow and was the recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award for UAH’s College of Business in 2022.
Zhu earned her Ph.D. in operations management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Her research focuses on sustainable supply chain management, product deletion, and blockchain technology. She has published articles in journals including IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, among others.
She currently teaches Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management (BA 360) to undergraduate students.
