Bio
Dan Eaton has been an instructor in the management department since fall 2007 where he teaches classes in ethical decision-making in business and legal issues in managing employees. In 2023, the top management department graduate named him as her most influential faculty member.
Eaton graduated from Harvard Law School with honors in 1989. He is a partner in the litigation department of the San Diego law firm of Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek. He defends and advises employers on a range of employment issues. He is also the former chair of the San Diego County Bar Association Legal Ethics Committee and a longtime member of the disciplinary committee of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
Since the fall of 2016, Eaton has had a biweekly column in the San Diego Union-Tribune business section called “The Law at Work" and he has made frequent appearances as a legal analyst on San Diego TV and radio throughout his career.
