Introducing The New Faculty for 2017
Four new assistant professors - Hannah Smith (accounting), Kaveh Abhari (management information systems), Morgan Poor (marketing) and Sunaina Chugani (marketing) - will be joining the Fowler College of Business starting this fall semester.
Dr. Hannah Smith
Dr. Hannah Smith will join the faculty of the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy during the 2017 fall semester as an assistant professor. She will teach two sections of the taxation of business entities course (ACCT. 332) and will focus her research on U.S. corporate taxes.
Smith earned her MAcc and Ph.D. at the University of Tennessee . She is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia, and, previous to her career in academia, she worked at PwC as a tax associate in the firm’s Atlanta office.
Dr. Kaveh Abhari:
SDSU’s management information systems (MIS) department will gain a new faculty member this fall when Dr. Kaveh Abhari starts his tenure as an assistant professor in August 2017. He will teach two tracks of the information systems analysis course (MIS 306).
Before his arrival at the Fowler College of Business, Abhari earned his Ph.D. in communication and information sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2014. After graduation, he stayed at the university to serve as a full-time researcher, principal investigator and MIS instructor.
Dr. Morgan Poor
Dr. Morgan Poor will be joining the marketing faculty at SDSU’s Fowler College of Business where she will teach two classes of integrated marketing communications (MKTG 373) stating in August 2017.
Poor earned her Ph.D. in business at Indiana University in Bloomington in 2012 and she was a professor and researcher at the University of San Diego for five years before joining the faculty at SDSU.
Dr. Sunaina Chugani
The Fowler College of Business will welcome Dr. Sunaina Chugani as a new assistant professor in the marketing department starting this fall. She is a top researcher and teacher in the field of consumer science.
Chugani comes to SDSU after spending four years at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in New York. She earned her Ph.D. in marketing at the University of Texas at Austin in 2013.
