Assistant marketing professor, Dr. Iana Castro, came to San Diego State in 2011 after completing her Ph.D. at the Arizona State University. She currently teaches retail marketing methods (MKTG-372) to undergraduate students.
Her areas of research include the effects of environmental factors on consumer choices and the impact of stereotypes on brands and consumer behavior. She was recently awarded a grant from the National Institute of Heath to study the introduction of children’s menus in restaurants to improve access to healthier foods.
Castro was awarded the college’s Outstanding Faculty Contribution Award for Professional Growth in 2014 and also serves as the faculty advisor for the Hispanic Business Student Association.
