Katie Hughes has been teaching rhetoric and writing for over 20 years and has an extensive background in designing courses that integrate instructional technologies with pedagogical strategies. In addition to creating and teaching her own online courses, she trains faculty to deliver fully online courses through her participation as an instructional technology services (ITS) faculty fellow at SDSU. She also completed the 2016-17 CSU Proven Course Redesign with Technology program to further develop pedagogical strategies for delivering fully online writing courses.
Over summer 2020 and throughout the academic year 2020-21, she served as a module designer and peer mentor for SDSU's Flexible Course Design Institute for training over 1,400 SDSU faculty in preparation to teach their courses online due to COVID.
